Being part of the community we serve is a role that Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities takes seriously. As your local utility, we work hard to be an active participant by lending a hand in community service projects and offering various educational programs.
We have pledged a strong commitment to, not only our customers, but to our community. Through a number of civic-minded activities, Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities has fostered strong relationships that help further our connection to the community.
- Badger Girl State: In January 2019, Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities sponsored two young ladies from Oconto Falls High School at Badger Girl State. This program takes place in Madison every year and teaches those in attendance about the functions and daily operations of our state government.
- Memorial Day Fireworks Display: In May 2019, Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities was happy to donate toward the wonderful Memorial Day Fireworks Display, to be enjoyed by the entire community and their guests.
- Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce: Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities is a proud member of the Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, and fully supports their activities. In 2020, the utility was a sponsor of the Music by the River Program, as well as Run for the Trails, donating both labor and money to support these two activities.
- Oconto County Economic Development: Supporting Economic Development in Oconto Falls is also important to us. Through our program, known as the Economic Development Partnership, we are able to provide funds to community organizations to enhance efforts in Economic Development. In 2020, Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities was pleased to provide the Oconto County Economic Development Corp. $1,000 to be used in their new Micro Loan Program.
- Avenue of Lights: Oconto Falls is very fortunate to have dedicated individuals who take the time to provide our community with such a beautiful display of Holiday Lights each year. It draws people from all over the area and serves as a welcoming gesture of good cheer to all. Our staff gives many hours of time in helping with the decorations.
