Utility cautions against disconnections as winter moratorium ends

Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities is advising electric customers who are behind on their bills to make payment arrangements with the utility to avoid service disconnection.

Wisconsin's Winter Emergency Period, often referred to as the moratorium on residential service disconnection, ends April 16.

Stay Safe During a Storm-Related Outage

As a locally owned utility, Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities has an electric crew that regularly maintains the poles, wires and equipment that keep the lights on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a result, the utility has a strong record for reliability. But during summerís occasional severe weather, even the best safeguards cannot always prevent an outage from occurring.
